We are close, and we say where we are

Our office is at 41 Industrial Street, Unit 102, in East York — a real address inside the City of Toronto, immediately south of North York. You are welcome to come and sit down with us, though most families never need to until they collect their loved one's remains.

Every part of North York is well inside the 30 kilometres included in our prices. Willowdale, Don Mills, Bayview Village, York Mills, Downsview, Bathurst Manor, Newtonbrook, Lansing, Armour Heights, Hoggs Hollow, Henry Farm, Parkwoods, Victoria Village, Flemingdon Park, Clanton Park, Yorkdale, Glen Park, Black Creek, Humbermede and Jane and Finch are all covered at no additional charge, at any hour of the day or night.

This is worth checking when you compare providers. Several of the low-cost cremation companies advertising in North York operate out of York Region or further north, and quote surcharges for longer transfers we do not need to.

We regularly attend the North York hospitals — North York General on Leslie Street, Humber River Health on Wilson Avenue, Sunnybrook on Bayview Avenue, and Baycrest on Bathurst Street — along with long-term care homes, retirement residences and private homes throughout the area.

Questions North York Families Ask Us

How quickly can you come?

Uually within a couple of hours anywhere in North York and often sooner. If your loved one is at home, we will talk you through what to expect before we arrive. If they are in hospital or a care home, there is no urgency at all, they will be cared for until we come, and you do not need to be present.

Is there a charge for coming to North York?

No. All of North York falls within the 30 kilometres included in our prices, at any hour. Transfers beyond 30 kilometres carry a fee, and we will tell you the amount before you commit to anything.

Do I have to come to your office?

Not to make the arrangements. Most families complete everything online with us guiding them, and we handle the paperwork. You will need to come to East York once, to collect your loved one's remains. If you would rather sit down with someone in person from the start, you are very welcome to.

How long until we have the ashes?

Usually within five business days of your loved one coming into our care. The main variable is how quickly the medical certificate and registrations are completed, which depends on the doctor or coroner rather than on us. We will call you as soon as your loved one is ready.

What paperwork do we need?

A Medical Certificate of Death completed by the doctor, nurse practitioner or coroner. From there we complete the Statement of Death, register the death with the City of Toronto, and provide you with unlimited certified proof of death certificates during the first year. If you need a Death Certificate from ServiceOntario for estate matters, we will explain how to order one. You do not have to work any of this out yourself.

Is this price really the price?

It is, and we will tell you plainly if anything in your circumstances would change it, a transfer beyond 30 kilometres, or an urn if you choose one. What we will not do is quote you a low figure and add things afterwards.

Cultural And Relisious Observances

Worth understanding before you compare prices, because it is a difference the headline figure does not show.

A number of inexpensive cremation providers serving North York hold a transfer service licence only. That class of licence does not permit a viewing or any private time with your loved one before the cremation. If you decide afterwards that you wanted it, it is too late.

We hold a funeral establishment operator licence alongside our transfer service licence. Our Private Family Goodbye package includes fifteen minutes of private chapel time for up to five people, before the cremation takes place. For many families that quarter of an hour is the part they remember. We would rather you knew it was available than found out later that it wasn't.
