Robert (Bob) Anthony Betchinski

August 2, 1958 – September 14, 2022
Robert (Bob) passed away suddenly on September 14th at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. Left to cherish his memory are his two sisters, Catherine (Pointe Claire, Que) and Elaine (Ellen)(Edmonton, AB), numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Anthony in 1993 and his mother, Opal in 2006. Robert was born in Lachine, Quebec and earned his BA from Concordia University (Montreal) in 1985. He grew up in a very large extended family and enjoyed the many milestone celebrations, summer vacations by the shore in New Brunswick, family barbecues and picnics in the park. An excellent ballroom dancer, he was much in demand as a dance partner at formal events. He studied martial arts and attained a high level of proficiency in several disciplines. Military history was a passion of his and he was widely read on the subject. A loyal and devoted employee, he worked for 33 years at ScotiaMcLeod/Scotiabank. He never turned down an assignment, was first in the office each day and had the coffee pot on for his co-workers. Robert loved his work family and the feelings were mutual. His dry sense of humour brought many a laugh to a conversation.
Cremation has occurred and burial will take place at a later date in Lachine, Quebec.

The passing of our dear cousin Robert was not expected.
We have always enjoyed his company, mostly with family gatherings over the years.
I remember the day 33 years ago when Robert proudly started work at Scotiabank.
Sending prayers and condolences to Elaine and Catherine.
We share fond memories of growing up in Lachine with a loving extended family.
