Growing up on the same street, I’ll always remember playing road hockey and Stan would occasionally join in the fun. Great memories of the good times we shared. We would like to express our deepest condolences to the Payne family and all.

Stans daughter Heather married our son Adrian many years ago and we enjoyed many family get togethers. When we both retired we Golfed together, usually at Spring Creek in Pickering for about 20 years on most Tuesdays. (It never seemed to rain on that day and we cancelled very few tee-times over
the years)
Get a tee time arranged up there Stan because we will be joining you in the near future.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of Mr Payne. He was a very kind man growing up on Marjory Ave.
I remember all the times your family invited me to the fire fighters annual picnic at Center Island. Great memories.

To me, Mr. Payne was not just my best friend’s Dad. He was a kind and compassionate adult who always took time to guide and listen to his children … and all their friends. He taught me that it was okay to have an opinion, even if it wasn’t his. He scolded me along with Shari when we stayed out too late or used too much booze to make our homemade Baileys. He’d flick the basement light when we played music too loud. He led by example, he’d smile at us – while he was teasing and trying to irritate Mrs. Payne. All the time we knew she was the love of his life!
Heather, Shari and Krissy are the proof of the amazing father he was. I am the lucky one that wasn’t born into his family, but got to love and be loved by HIM!!!!
I will miss you Mr. Payne! Love You forever!
Sylvia

Thank you Gerald. Great name, by the way. Our dad LOVED being a firefighter and being with his crew. He was a very hard working man and a tremendous husband and father to us. We wish you all the best in your career and so happy our father was a mentor to you. Keep safe and all the best to you and your family.

Stan was my Captain on Pumper 10 A2 shift when he was an Acting District Chief out of station 10 (Yorkville Ave.) Win, lose or draw at calls he was always level headed and calm. His good nature and attitude was absorbed by the large cast of characters he worked with in the TFD and is still being passed on in the TFS. I am sorry to hear he has passed and wanted to send my condolences to the family.

I worked with Stan on the High Rise Unit at Adelaide street station when he came to us from Stn. #12 (Pape and Gerard). He was one one my first captains on the job. He showed me how a good captain conducts himself. Calm and professional at calls. He advocated for his crew and was always one hundred percent behind us. He enjoyed life and I remember him as a great baseball fan. He loved the Blue Jays and would travel to their spring training in Florida. When I think of Stan, I see his smiling face.
