Wilkinson, Marilyn Jean (nee Bailey)
Wilkinson, Marilyn Jean (nee Bailey) – Born September 6, 1942, sadly succumbed to her valiant battle with cancer, at age 75, on Sunday August 19th, 2018 at Markham Stouffville hospital. She passed peacefully in her sleep.
Marilyn was a strong and loving role model, volunteering with the Stroke Recovery Group at March of Dimes. She spent her early career as an operator at Bell Canada, followed by a lengthy career at The Nielsen Company before joining the Michaels Team.
Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother and caring friend. She was a fan of both the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. She was also a long time part of the Riverwood Park Community where she had enjoyed camping, dances, campfires, camaraderie and spent many hours volunteering. She was creative, loving crafts. She loved to play cards, go out to restaurants and a bit later in life discovered a love for Walt Disney World Resort which she visited numerous times. She had a well known love of Christmas, going all out to deck the halls! Marilyn made a mean banana bread that was much sought after. She loved well, laughed often and will be missed by many.
Marilyn is predeceased by her loving husband George Wilkinson, her parents Arthur and Florence Bailey and her siblings Sheila and Wayne.
Marilyn is survived by her loving children Judy (Gordon Riddell) and Sally (Dennis Baez), her grandchildren David and Ryan Riddell along with her brother Martin Bailey (Jeannine). She is fondly remembered by so many family and friends.
Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital for the amazing care, kindness and dignity afforded her.

In lieu of flowers it is the family’s wishes that donations be made to Markham Stouffville Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Celebration of Life
It was Marilyn’s wishes that there be no services however a Celebration of Life will be held Sunday September 9, 2018 between 1 and 5pm at:
