Shirley Patricia Ali-Cummings

Shirley Patricia Ali-Cummings, aged 76, passed away peacefully October 31, 2019 after a long battle with dementia.

She is survived by 4 children – Debbie Albani, Susan Goff, Anil Ali, and Chris Ali, as well as grandchildren Joshua, Evelyn, Jasmine, Jessica, Christian, Ryan and Destiny. Predeceased by infant son Mohammed N. Ali

Born in Guyana South America, she emigrated to Canada in 1973. As a single mother, she worked 2 or 3 jobs at a time to provide a good life and a positive influence for her children.

Shirley was a fantastic cook. No one could match her dishes from back home. There was always a hot meal for the kids to come home to.

Country music was her favourite, and she had a special place in her heart for Elvis.

She took great pride in her appearance, her home and the fact that she would always pay cash for everything. She was a saver who never used credit of any sort.

When not at work, or busy cooking and cleaning, she would be outside with her kids, ensuring they were safe.

Shirley would always stand up for herself, and could out swear anybody when the situation called for it.

When people came to her for advice, she always made time for them. You may not have liked what you heard, but it was what she thought, no reservations.

She was a very strong woman who put her children first. Although life was not always kind to her and as time passed some situations became difficult for her and her children, she was loved, and she will be dearly missed and will remain forever in their hearts.

Now that she has returned to the Heavenly Father, we are comforted to know that she will be watching over us.
