Obituary

Sheila Mary Badcock (née Revels)

April 9, 1932 – September 11, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sheila Mary Badcock (née Revels) on September 11, 2026.

Born and raised in pastoral Ashwell, England in 1932 to parents George Revels and Gladys Revels (née Covington), Sheila was the eldest of three children, brother Michael (predeceased) and sister Yvonne.

Sheila married Peter Badcock in 1960, moved to Canada and built a life together, raising three children: Sara, John and Neil. She was devoted to giving her children every opportunity to grow into well-rounded and curious individuals. She encouraged them to explore a variety of interests and activities, including Scouts, piano lessons, horseback riding and tennis, always eager to see them discover new passions and experiences.

Sheila dedicated much of her career to education as a schoolteacher, shaping young minds with patience and care. In her younger years, she and Peter were avid tennis players, sharing countless active afternoons on the court.

Later in life, she found great joy and camaraderie in local quilting groups, stitching together both beautiful patterns and enduring friendships.

Sheila was predeceased by her cherished husband, Peter and leaves behind a rich legacy through her three children Sara (Jon) John (Sarah), Neil and her three grandsons: Miles, Rowan, and Peter. Sheila’s warmth, creativity, and steadfast love for her family will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her children and grandchildren along with her beloved sister Yvonne and her family in England.

A celebration of Sheila’s life will be held at a future date.
