It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of DR. ROBERT DOUGLAS GORDON BLAIR on December 9th, 2025, at the age of 86 years. He died peacefully in his retirement home in Toronto, Ontario. Predeceased by his wife, Anntonia “Toni” Blair (Lawson) and leaves behind his beloved children and grandchildren; daughter, Catherine Blair (Marlon), Nathan and Aidan, son, Christopher Blair (Trish), Samantha and Tyler, and son, Duncan (Tristen), Oskar, his sister, Gerry Savory (John), nephew David, niece Andrea, Emily and Christopher and nephew, Alistair. Gordon spent his early childhood in Toronto and grew up in Vancouver after moving there in the late 1940’s. At 16, he was accepted to the University of British Columbia where he did his undergrad studies and then attended medical school at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Gordon chose to specialize in neurology and did his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and then began his career at Toronto Western Hospital. Gordon was passionate about his career, devoted to both the care of his patients and teaching his residents, many of whom became lifelong friends. Gordon just as devoted to his family, always willing to take the time to help with school, discuss current events or just about any topic at the dinner table and took the family across Canada for many summers on family camping trips. In his limited spare time, Gordon enjoyed playing bridge, playing the piano, listening to music, jazz and classical being his preference. Gordon and Toni loved to travel and often did this with their friends, the Chisholm's with whom they sailed in the Virgin Islands, toured Ireland, Portugal and did a Russian cruise. Gordon was well respected and loved by many. He was incredibly loyal and would do anything for the people he loved his family and his friends. He will be dearly missed by many. There will be a celebration of life in the spring of 2026.
