It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rhona Juliana Friedenthal. 

Rhona was a woman of outstanding elegance, creativity, and grace. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1941, Rhona’s journey was one marked by passion, artistry, and an unwavering zest for life. In 1976, she embarked on a new chapter, immigrating to Canada and eventually making Toronto’s Beaches area her beloved home - a place that reflected her love for beauty and serenity.

Rhona had refined tastes and sophisticated style. Her passion for fashion and art was evident in every aspect of her life, from her impeccable wardrobe to her vibrant and inspiring paintings. She poured her soul into her art, spending decades perfecting her craft, sharing her vision through her paintings that found eager buyers on eBay and her bespoke print products on Zazzle.com as RjF Creations. Her creativity knew no bounds, and her works touched the hearts of many.

Beyond her artistic talents, Rhona’s love for real estate showcased her keen eye for beauty and her desire to create welcoming, elegant spaces. She was a superstar at renovating old properties in South Africa, and for many years, a highly successful real estate agent at Harvey Kalles Real Estate Ltd. in Toronto. Her life was a testament to her love for aesthetics and her ability to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary with charm and elegance.

Rhona’s warmth, sophistication, and artistic spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she knew. She was a loving mother to her sons Damon (deceased) and Wayne, whose bond with her was a testament to her nurturing and compassionate nature.

Though she left us on October 18th, 2025 at the age of 84, her legacy endures through her art on the website beautifullart.com, and she lives on through our fond memories of her, and in the lives she touched with her elegance and creativity. Rhona’s spirit will forever inspire us to be bold and brave, embrace beauty, express ourselves freely, and live with grace.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Wayne and his wife Helen as well as her many friends and admirers of her artistic creations.

We are grateful for her presence in our lives and celebrate her remarkable journey. Rest in peace, Rhona - you were truly a woman of extraordinary talent and heart.

As per Rhona’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Family and friends will gather for a celebration of her life at a later date.
