With great sorrow her family announces Rachel’s passing in Toronto at the age of 97. She was the daughter of the late Joe Abramson and the late Lily Crotin. Predeceased by her two brothers Norton and Micky. She is survived by 6 nieces and nephews: Michael, Heather (Tom), Dina (Les), Jeff, Max, and Joel. She was born and raised in Montrock (Iroquois Falls), ON. After graduating from high school, Rachel moved to Toronto where she earned her degree from the Ontario College of Art and then headed to New York City in her 20’s. She worked for Ronson Corporation, W.T. Grant and JCPenney as a graphic design artist/Creative director. She loved New York and ultimately spent her entire career there. Her favorite hobby was travelling the world. She returned to Toronto in 1994 where she spent her time enjoying her cats, shopping, volunteering at an art gallery, walking for miles daily and sipping wine while treating herself to a nice lunch around her neighborhood.
At Rachel’s request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Thank you to the staff at Seven Oaks LTC for the care you provided her during the last 6 years.
