October 12, 1950 – September 3, 2021
Don passed away peacefully at Providence Villa on September 3, 2021, and entered the gates of heaven, soon after being diagnosed with cancer. Saddened by his departure and missing him already is the love of his life, Marie, his stepson Ed Fisher (Heather), four step-granddaughters and fourteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Cindy Mofford (Steve) and Marie’s large family, Gladys (Marvin) Stuckless, Shirley (Leonard) Simms, Gladys Young Barnes (Jim – predeceased), Gordon (Louise) Young, Marilyn (Donald) Shuart, Donna (David) Hamlyn, Dulcie (Robert) Conlin, and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Jacob Mofford and Eudene Bradshaw, brother Gary, in-laws Garfield and Honorah Young and brothers-in-law Wilfred Rideout and James Young.
Don loved to study the bible and never gave up on his quest for knowledge. He was an ordained minister of the Gospel and was awarded a honorary doctorate degree from Canada Christian College. He also loved to paint and left several paintings for family and friends to enjoy. But his greatest joy came from his time with Marie as they spent many hours driving the countryside or wherever their vehicle seemed to take them. These will be sweet memories.
Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
