Linda Pineo

March 9, 1949 — October 28, 2025

Linda Mary Pineo (nee Elliot), much loved mother, grandmother, aunt and great aunt, passed into a better place on October 28, 2025, in Toronto. Linda is greatly missed by sons Scott and TJ, husband and best friend Steve, siblings Mike (Jeannette), Chris (Dave) and Doreen (Bob), grandsons Andrew, Alexander and Stephen, and many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Linda was predeceased by parents Robert (Bob) and Edith Elliot, and she now joins them singing at the holy gates.

Linda was born in Bedford, England on March 9, 1949 to Robert (Bob) Elliot and Edith Elliot (nee Gardner), and grew up in Luton. Linda starred in plays at her secondary school and secretly wanted to have a future on the stage. She was also an excellent soprano/alto soprano with the Luton Girls Choir and travelled with them to concerts around the country.

Linda came to Canada with her family when she was 17. It was here that she met and fell in love with Stephen Pineo (Steve). They were married in 1969 on Valentines Day and over the next few years, their sons Scott and TJ were born. Linda cherished the boys and, although maybe they might say a bit bossy, she was a strong influence on them as they grew into the responsible men that she was so proud of.

Once Scott and TJ were in school, Linda was employed by Four Seasons Hotels where, for many years, from reception to Manager of Communications, she was great at her job while, at the same time, an instigator of fun activities including a few notoriously-wonderful company Christmas parties. Her telephone manner led CEO Issy Sharpe to call her “the voice of Four Seasons.”

Over the past few years, Linda bravely faced a number of medical challenges and soldiered on. Even when she was severely limited by her condition, she was still a cheerful soul, and especially when son TJ brought his own special brand of comedy.

Linda’s family wish to thank Amantdeep, Tenzin and all of the staff on 4 East at Kensington Gardens for their care and compassion. You were very much appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Linda’s memory.

Rest in peace, Linda. We’re going to miss you big time!

A private Celebration of Life will be held on November 10, 2025.
