Lawrence "Lorne" Paul Latoski

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorne Latoski, age 72, of North Bay, Ontario. Lorne passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. 

Born on January 5, 1953, in Hornepayne, Ontario, Lorne was the cherished son of Paul and Patricia (deceased). He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Patricia, and his daughters: Lori (Deni), Shana (Tyler), Brianna (Micheal), and Mira (Steven). He was a proud grandfather to Maximus, Trey, Dylan, Lillian, Levi, and Ash-Lynn. Lorne is also survived by his beloved brothers John (Carol Ann), Terry (Sherry), and Chris (Monica), and predeceased by his brother Mike (Joanne). He will also be remembered by many extended family members and dear friends. 

Lorne worked as a Locomotive Engineer for 44 years, and also spent time as a log truck driver and volunteer firefighter. 

He will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, and his love for Tim Hortons coffee. Lorne had a lifelong passion for driving and could often be found on the open road. 

He enjoyed reading, watching TV shows, golfing, playing pool, fishing, and, most of all, spending time with Sassy.

Lorne touched the lives of many and leaves behind cherished memories that will live on forever. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Lorne’s name to the Transplant Department at Toronto General Hospital. 

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and physicians of the MSICU on the tenth floor at Toronto General Hospital, as well as the Transplant Team, for their compassion and support.
