Joanne Elinor Nelson passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018. She lead a life full of verve and vitality, and was a longstanding central character of Corktown. Joanne was an avid lover of the city life in Toronto, the arts, the Bruce Peninsula, and frequently serving as hostess and chef to small or large groups. She will be greatly missed by her family – Uffe and Carol (nee Nelson) Braae, Nina Beveridge, Jaime and Liam, Susanah Shebib, her pets (Jumping Jack Flash and Obie), as well as her many many friends and acquaintances. Joanne’s family and close friends will be having a celebration of her life on her birthday, December 31. As a party girl, she would expect a party on her birthday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Breast Cancer Research at the Canadian Cancer Society. The world will have less pizzazz without her. “Hugs, J”
