Irene Francis McBride

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Irene Francis McBride (nee Christopher), peacefully, at Sunnybrook Hospital on December 14th 2025. Born in Toronto on June 27th, 1932 to Joseph and Dorothy Christopher, she lived most of her life in Toronto, close to her sisters Marjorie (deceased), Margaret and Theresa, and her brother Raymond (deceased). She loved dancing, garage sales, road trips and most of all, time with family. With her indomitable spirit she truly believed that love could conquer all, and relished the opportunity to give advice and be a second mom to any of our young friends or family that approached her.

She worked at numerous jobs during her life including the WSIB, Martin & Merry and Reid Insurance brokers , but mainly she worked for the Federal Government in the OAS/GIS department as the assistant to the Director, where she retired at the age of 83.

Predeceased by her 2 husbands, Maurice Kimmerly and Gerald Bud McBride, she was

a loving and devoted mother to Jason, Danny ( Deb) and Russell (deceased).

Doting grandmother to Geoffrey (Cassandra), Ryan (Jessie), Shenley( Drew) and Haley. Proud great-grandmother to Olivia, Natalia, Bryce and Lainey. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten by her many nieces and nephews whom she cherished and always loved her conversations and phone calls.

Funeral service will be held on Monday December 29th, 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic church, Lawrence Ave in Scarborough. A gathering to be held at Dan and Deb's residence, immediately following the service.
