It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glen Kivisto on June 12, 2026, at the age of 67. Glen passed away peacefully with his family by his side following a lung transplant that was met with many complications that he was ultimately unable to overcome.
Glen will be forever remembered for his generous nature, kind heart and unwavering dedication to his family. Glen is predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Svea Kivisto; his brother, Vern Kivisto and his sister, Margaret Murdoch. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Donna; his children, Dawn (Steve), Brian (Ronnie-Kay), Craig (Alexandra), bonus daughter Liisa (Steve); his brothers and sister, Norman, Kathy, Alan and his six cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Davis, Cale, Frankie, Payton and Blake, who were truly the light of his life.
Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Glen was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to take on any challenge. Throughout his career, he worked as a Tool & Die Craftsman, Custodian and Secondary School Teacher. He retired to Huntsville, Ontario, where he enjoyed a life filled with family, friendship and the outdoors.
Glen had a deep love for animals and was happiest when spending time outdoors. Whether he was fishing, four-wheeling, or travelling with friends, he embraced every opportunity for adventure and companionship. He was known by family and friends as the ultimate "Mr. Fix- It"—a true jack of all trades who could build, repair, or solve just about anything. If something was broken, Glen was the person everyone called.
Glen's kindness, selflessness and sense of humour touched the lives of all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed by his family and friends, his memory will live on in their hearts and in the stories, traditions and love he leaves behind.
His favourite place in the world was Tasso Lake, where he spent countless hours making memories with family and friends. The lake brought him peace, joy and a connection to nature that he treasured throughout his life. In keeping with his wishes, his remains will be kept at Tasso Lake, the place he loved most and where his spirit will forever remain.
A celebration of Glen's life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in Glen's memory to an animal rescue of your choice.
