Gary William Tyson

December 25, 1960 — January 13, 2024

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Gary William Tyson on Jan 13 th , 2024, at the age of 63. Born on Christmas day in 1960 in Toronto to Dona (nee Tomlin) and Bob Tyson (deceased 2016 & 2019) The youngest of three, he is survived by sister Gail (Ricky) Peet and brother Bob (Cindy). Loving uncle to Andrea (Ray), Tara-Lynn, Darryl, Travis & Colleen, great uncle to Haleigh, Peyton, Easton, Lillian & Jaxson.

Gary will be greatly missed by his family, friends and co-workers as he was such a compassionate, reliable and trusting soul. He was quiet by nature and peaceful at heart and always available to lend an ear, share in a memory or give assistance in whatever manner was needed. Living most of his life in the Toronto area, he maintained relationships with many long- time friends while staying in contact with several extended family members. He loved to play online games and to share his successes with others. He spent most of his working life in the financial industry where he was extremely dedicated and admired, working long and hard to achieve results. He had few hobbies and seldom took vacation, but he was passionate about gardening and had a love of wolves.

The family would like to send special thanks to Gary’s close friends Chris and Alan for their extraordinary care and compassion shown during his final days, and to his many friends who were so supportive. We are also grateful to his associates at Canaccord Genuity for their support and kindness shown at this difficult time.

After some time to grieve and reflect the family will plan a celebration of life and will spread the word in advance of the event.

Donations to Friends of Ruby in Gary’s honour would be appreciated (www.friendsofruby.ca)
