Elizabeth Fay Brooks

Liz Brooks died peacefully on December 4, 2025 after a long and difficult illness, with her husband Frank Rodick and beloved niece Charmaine Brooks at her side.

There was no one more gentle, generous, and kind than Liz. When her mother was dying of cancer, Liz left her profession of teaching to care for her until her mother’s death. She worked hard to make better the lives of children, many underprivileged, teaching elementary school, music, and reading skills to those falling behind. She bought mittens for children whose hands were bare on cold winter days.

Liz travelled intrepidly, enjoyed poetry and literature, and rewatching Mad Men and The Sopranos with her husband, Frank.

She will be painfully missed, and those who love her will keep her close.

In Liz’s memory, consider a donation to the foundation that bears her name, serving animal rights and welfare along with humanitarian causes in the city of Toronto, both dear to Liz’s heart.
