Edward Isao Mitani

EDWARD ISAO MITANI

(July 14, 1939 – February 12, 2019)

Edward passed away at the age of 79 years old on Feb12, 2019 in Toronto. Edward grew up in Winnipeg’s West End, and was a talented athlete, he played hockey for the Orioles Community

Club, played football for the Mighty Maroons at Daniel McIntyre H.S., and won many junior tennis tournaments in the Winnipeg area. Edward went on to teacher’s college and taught at

Victoria Albert Elementary School for many years. Edward was a quiet and reserved guy who liked his privacy and to be outdoors. Edward moved to Toronto in the 1980’s and we lost track of him for many years, but he would call and email us from time to time. We have fond memories of Edward and sad that we did not have more time together before he passed away. He is survived by this sister Florence (Paul) in Winnipeg, and brother Brian (Irene) in Ottawa.
