Dennis John Mckibbin

March 22, 1948 — April 20, 2026

Dennis John McKibbin, aged 78, passed away peacefully at Bridgepoint Healthcare in Toronto, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, patience, and unwavering love.

A man of deep character and a jovial spirit, Dennis spent much of his life dedicated to the service of others. As a gifted teacher, he possessed a unique heart for children facing learning challenges, providing them with the support and advocacy they needed to thrive. His patience in the classroom was mirrored by his gentle nature at home, where he found great joy in the company of his pets. Dennis had a notorious soft spot for cats—most notably his last companion, Declin, who famously claimed Dennis’s face as his favorite sleeping spot.

Dennis’s life was defined by two profound love stories. He was first married to Gary Kraft, whom Dennis supported with incredible devotion through Gary's long battle with autoimmune disease. Following Gary’s passing, Dennis found love and partnership again with Naveen Pathania. During Dennis's own journey as a cancer survivor, Naveen was his rock, providing constant care and fierce advocacy throughout his treatment.

A spiritual man, Dennis was a dedicated member of Saint Luke’s United Church in Toronto, where he found community and peace. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a "kind and jovial" soul who could brighten a room with his friendly presence.

Family and Friends

Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Marie Eva McKibbin and Harvey Norman McKibbin, and his beloved brother, Donald McKibbin.

His journey was brightened by a wonderful circle of family and friends who cared for him deeply through all of life’s "kith and kin." The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to:

Family: Cindy Davis, Carolyn McKibbin, and Patricia.

Friends: Doreen, Robert Pinch, Roger Somers, Jamie, Paul, John, David, and Sanjay.

The family also extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bridgepoint Healthcare for their compassionate care in his final days.

Dennis leaves us with empty hearts, but we take comfort in knowing he is at rest. May his soul find eternal peace.
