Darren Mark
Olson
Sep 7, 1960 — Jul 8, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Darren Olson, who tragically passed away on July 8, 2026, at the age of 65.
Darren was a father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, friend, and proud Canadian military veteran. During his 19 years of military service, he had the opportunity to travel the world, developing a deep appreciation for different cultures and the people he met along the way. Those experiences shaped him and remained with him throughout his life.
Darren was an active Freemason who believed strongly in giving back to his community. Throughout the years, he dedicated countless hours to charitable initiatives and community projects, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. In more recent years, he found friendship and camaraderie at the Port Credit Legion, where he created many meaningful memories and lasting connections.
Those who knew Darren will remember his quick sense of humour, his easy-going nature, and his ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone.
Darren also had a lifelong fascination with gadgets and technology. In recent years, that curiosity evolved into a passion for emerging technology and artificial intelligence subjects he greatly enjoyed exploring and learning about.
He leaves behind his loving children, Jacqueline (Darryl) and Ken (Brittany); his cherished grandchildren, Landen, Hayden, Addilyn, Isla, and Ryder; his siblings, Brian (Sharon), Sherril, Kim, Terri (Harold), and Pattie (Rick); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will remember him with love and in their own special ways.
A private Celebration of Life for immediate family and close friends will be held at a later date.
Dad, thank you for your service to our country, for the memories you gave us, and for the pieces of yourself that will forever remain in our hearts. We hope you have found the peace that eluded you here, and that you have been reunited with your Mom and Dad and, most importantly, Kevin.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Darren’s memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association in support of mental health awareness and suicide prevention
