Christopher Stan Stawiarski

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Christopher (Chris) Stawiarski, age 39, who left us suddenly on Friday, February 27, 2026.

Chris, a gentle soul, was predeceased by his beloved grandparents, Michael and Alexandra (Szpiech) Barylo, and his mother, Lorain Barylo, whom he loved deeply. He had a close bond with his grandparents. Chris spent the last year by his mother’s side while she was in the hospital, and when she passed away in August, he found her loss very difficult.

Chris will be deeply missed by his sister, Teresa (Alex Kaklamanos), and his half-sister, Kasia Stawiarski. He will be lovingly remembered by his aunts, Christine Dow and Diane (Stuart) Foster (on his mother’s side) and uncle, Steve (Lucy) Stawiarski. Chris also leaves behind his cousins, Danusha (Christian) Foster-Pengelly, Rob Dow, Brett Foster, and Thomas Stawiarski, as well as his great-nieces, Kinga and Avalon Foster-Pengelly.

Chris worked at Starsky’s Fine Foods in Stoney Creek for many years. His friends, colleagues, and co-workers are greatly saddened by his passing. He formed many close relationships at the store and brought much joy to those around him.

Chris was so excited to attend the Paul McCartney concert in Hamilton in November. As a teenager, he spent many hours at his grandparents’ home listening to his mother’s and aunts’s Beatles music. Seeing Paul brought him so much happiness.

A private celebration of life will be held on June 27, 2026.

Though his time with us was far too short, Chris’s kindness, warmth, and love for his family will never be forgotten. He will remain in our hearts always.
