Carl Michael Naumoff

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Michael Naumoff, beloved son of Elizabeth (Betty) Robertson, devoted brother of Garth, devoted father of Sydney and McKenzie, proud grandfather of Bayleigh, Onyx, Truett, Milan and Erin, devoted nephew of Noreen Boyle, cousin of her six wonderful children, and longtime partner of Barbara Heikkila.

Born in Toronto, Carl was an exceptional athlete who became a renowned martial artist during the pioneering era of kickboxing and mixed martial arts (MMA) in North America. He trained, coached, and competed alongside many legendary fighters, contributing meaningfully to the growth and mainstream recognition of martial arts.

Following his retirement from combat sports, Carl turned his drive and discipline to entrepreneurial ventures in both Canada and the United States. He later applied his deep experience as a coach and mentor in his work as a Career and Work Counsellor, where he continued to guide and support others.

Throughout his life, music was a passion and mainstay. He was a talented musician, and loved playing guitar, composing his own music and singing with his beautiful voice.

Above all else, Carl was a loving and generous man. A loyal and supportive friend, he was known for his quick smile, sharp wit, and warm sense of humour. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the good fortune to know him.

A private celebration of his life will be held with family. Donations in Carl’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
