Betty Ann Louise Locke

The family of Betty Locke announces her peaceful passing on October 30, 2025, in Scarborough, Ontario.

Betty was born on January 5th in Corner Brook, NL, to the late Andrew and Christina (Duhart) Locke. She grew up in Newfoundland and went on to live most of her life in Ontario.

Betty will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, and determination. She lived a life marked by strength, independence, and resilience. Betty found joy in life’s small moments—a shared laugh, a good song, the comfort of a familiar place, and time spent with her family.

She was the proud mother of Sheila (Richard), Gary (Julie), and Terry, and the loving grandmother of Danica, Janessa, Olivia, Jennifer, Liam, and Lily, and her adored great-grandchildren. She always wanted the best for those around her. Her family was her greatest source of pride and joy. Her memory will live on in the way she shaped us and the stories we will continue to share.

We are especially thankful to our brother Terry. His dedication to her care and well-being, with patience and unwavering love, didn’t go unnoticed and is so appreciated. 

She will be missed and remembered by her siblings Gerald, Gloria, George, Tony, Sandra, and Joanne, as well as many friends, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Andy and Christina, and siblings Bill, Clarence, Shirley, Weldon, Faye, Don, Bob, Max, and Cynthia.

She deeply valued the lifelong friendships she shared with Doreen Gibbons and Shirley Locke.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date in celebration of her life. If anyone would like to reach out to the family with a happy memory or story of Betty, we would love to hear them and share in remembering her life.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the hospital staff of Scarborough General Hospital.

Her love, laughter, and light will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
