CHEATLEY, Barbara Florence (nee Savage) died Nov 27, 2025, after a brief illness at Michael Garron hospital. Born May 2, 1933, to John and Phyllis Savage, she was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, James (Jim) in 2018. Also predeceased by siblings, David and Audrey, she leaves behind sons Robert (Marlene), Alan (Patti Lou), and Mark (Margie), sister-in-law Sheila Savage, as well as grandchildren Stephanie (Paul), Daniel (Zue), Kevin, James (Heather), Michael (Bonnie), Nicole (Alex), and Angela (Greg). Barb was GiGi to 6 great grandchildren to date: Madelyn, Francis, Adaley, Tate, Mavis, and Liam. A graveside service for the family was held at St John’s Norway Cemetery, and a Memorial-Celebration of Life is planned for 2 p.m. on May 2, 2026, at St John’s Norway Church.

Barb had a bottomless well of kindness and hospitality, living her early years in North Toronto's Wanless Park, then over 70 years in the Beaches. She devoted many decades of charitable work to the Canadian Cancer Society where she was a canvasser and canvasser captain. She worked for the Canadian Cancer Society for 17 years running their Beaches / East York unit. In later years Barb served as a driver taking cancer patients to their hospital appointments. Donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society in her memory.
