Susan Linda Jamieson

Susan Linda Jamieson – Truckel

Susan Linda Jamieson – Truckel, 61, passed away suddenly on November 18, 2021 in the midst of a heroic fight against cancer.

An amazing and determined spirit, Susan found deep enjoyment as an entrepreneur. With her big ideas and innovative thinking, Susan embraced every project with conviction, dedication, and power. She always firmly believed in the capability of positive thinking and hard work. An intensely private person, she nevertheless found the courage to speak before a UN event in Rome on the role of organic fertilizers and to host her own radio show about her love of horses.

Susan was passionate about travel and experiencing the world. Extensively, widely, and deeply read, Susan was autodidact. Her special interest was in British history in connection with World War II, gained by listening to her parents at the dinner table.

A fundamental and abiding love of her life was the horse which she learned to ride with her daughter.

Susan took deep satisfaction mentoring a number of younger women and men and cared passionately about ideas of community and progress. She dreamed of the day when she could facilitate children from inner city gaining access to the beauty and companionship of the horse and the lessons that flow from that relationship.

Susan will be sadly missed by her husband, John Truckel, her daughter Tarin (Thomas) Dehod, grandson Wilder. Her Father, Andrew Jamieson and her Mum, Iris Jamieson (predeceased). Her sisters, Ruth (Major) Grady, Deborah (Tony) Totino and Sarah (John) Dort along with their families.

Susan resolutely believed, moreover, in the words of hope contained in the Bible. It is in that hope she now resides.

Susan deeply appreciated the excellent care she received from all of the staff at Sunnybrook Hospital and her family.

A private memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2022.
