Marie Julia Ng

Marie Julia Ng (Julie)
Born June 2nd ,1939 in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Left this earth on January 18th, 2022 in Toronto, Ontario. She spent most of her lifetime building memories in Sudbury, Ontario where she made many friends, though her heart will forever be in her much-loved Mexico.
She was a Wife (Don), Mom of three daughters (Kimberly & Wil, Jessica & Suresh, Jennifer & Anthony), Grandma (Wilbur, Jacob, Matthew, Julia, Joshua), translator, master chef, artist, gardener, teacher, calligrapher, and bargain hunter.
Julie’s colourful character attracted many people. Her livelihood began when she was a telephone operator at Bell in Tampico, Mexico. The telephone was her lifeline and she loved to talk on the phone for hours as it brought her great comfort to have that company. Julie had a strong connection to her faith, and would never miss a day of saying her daily prayers. Julie truly lived through Christ expressed by her generosity. She had the gift of networking and helped many newcomers get established with the several languages she spoke. Julie was recognized for many volunteer positions, and had great satisfaction using her skills to help others. She was a talented chef and baker and would show her love through food. Julie had a green thumb and passion for making flower arrangements. In recent years, she revived her love and talent for crocheting which provided her with hours of tranquility.
Julie was blessed with many friends who took her under their wings and embraced her unique personality. She truly had a desire to live, however her health brought her down. She would always say, “when I kick the bucket…” Well, that time has come and you had quite the journey! Many have been blessed to have you in their lives, and will miss you deeply.
Lucie and all her friends here in Sudbury.
Judy truly was blessed. She had a great life that not many people have today. She had three wonderful amazing children ❤ and four precious grandchildren who will always cherish her memories. Most of all she was a daughter of God and we will all miss her dearly.

Sending love to the Ng family. I was fortunate to know Julie and bear witness to her sense of humour, her passion for food, for the company of her friends and family and for helping others make Canada feel like a home away from home.
She raised incredible daughters who continue to build on her legacy of embracing life, culture, friendship and perseverance in the face of adversity.
Julie will be missed. May she be at peace. XO

Dear Kimberly, Jessica and Jennifer,
My condolences to you and your husbands and children on the passing of your beloved mother Julie. I heard the sad news through our friend Frances in Sudbury. Growing up, my family lived across the street from yours on Jean Street. I remember your mom’s exuberance and big smile. She was a friend to my mom Valma and a kind neighbour. I look forward to hearing more about Julie on my visits with Frances. My dad Jukka and my siblings also send their condolences. May the memories of your shared lives with your mom bring you comfort and peace.
